General Rules and Regulations

  • In order to become a member of Inde Motorsports Ranch you must meet one (1) or more of the following requirements:
    • Currently hold (or have held within the last five (5) years) a Competition Racing license- SCCA, NASA,VARA, etc.
    • A Certificate of Completion from a professional driving school. The driving school must be two (2) days or more in length.
    • Have attended 6 (six) or more track day events.
    • Have completed an approved check-out ride with an IMR official.
  • New members are required to attend an IMR orientation seminar and sign the General Rules and Regulations. This will allow each new member to learn all the Rules and Regulations provided by IMR and to familiarize each member with the proper driver education.
  • Member guests and all other non-members must meet the same requirements as the member. Members are responsible for session fees of guests. Member must be present in order for his or her guest to drive on the track. Guest driver and all other non-members must complete a guest driver registration/waiver form each time they visit the Ranch.
  • If a member has not driven the track over a twelve (12) month period, they must complete a three (3) lap check-out ride with an IMR official. If a non-member has not driven the track over a six (6) month period, they must complete a three (3) lap check-out ride with an IMR official and pay a $60 fee. Should the non-member require additional laps to ensure qualifications, they are required to pay $20 per additional lap.
  • All drivers, passengers, guests, and visitors are required to sign in and fully execute the track release and waiver of liability agreement prior to engaging in any track related activities. IMR members are responsible for ensuring their guests sign in daily and sign the track release and waiver of liability agreement.
  • No one is to enter the track area until given permission by the track Grid Marshal. The Grid Marshal also reserves the right to prohibit access to the track if he/she deems that a driver’s experience level, vehicle worthiness, or attitude is a safety risk.
  • IMR personnel and the Grid Marshal will determine the run groups for each day.
  • Speed limit is 15 mph on all roads and 5 mph in all paddocks.
  • Members and/or guests are required to sign a parental consent waiver for all minors entering the facility. All minors must be kept under adult supervision at all times.
  • All drivers and passengers are required to have a Snell approved helmet: SA2000 or later for cars, M90 or later for motorcycles.
  • An SFI rated racing suit is recommended for production car drivers. Long sleeved shirts, long pants, and closed toe shoes are the minimum requirements.
  • Open cockpit cars including convertibles must have a roll bar installed, except for touring laps.
  • Each driver is responsible for learning the names and locations of all corners of the track, as this will be the means for giving instructions while on the track.
  • A fire extinguisher, securely mounted, is recommended in all vehicles.
  • All vehicles must be maintained at the level of the most current annual tech. IMR reserves the right to require additional technical inspections as necessary.
  • Safety belts must be worn at all times on the track. A 4, 5, or 6 point harness is strongly recommended in all vehicles.

Driver Conduct

  • If a driver drops two (2) wheels off the edge of the track the driver must cautiously return to the track surface.
  • If a driver drops all four (4) off the track and/or spins they are required to safely return to the track surface and continue at a “cool down” pace to the pits/paddock area to meet with the Grid Marshal.
  • For any spins that occur on the track (even if you do not leave the track surface) the driver is required to use caution while remaining aware of other vehicles and return to pits/paddock area to meet with the Grid Marshal.
  • Any driver who drops two (2) or more wheels and/or spins, three (3) times in any one day will be deemed an “aggressive driver” and will be asked to park their car and will not be allowed to drive the rest of the day.
  • The Grid Marshal will monitor the driving conduct of each member while on the track. If a member is driving in an aggressive manner he or she will be given a warning. If the member continues to drive in an unsafe manner they will not be allowed to drive the rest of the day. Drifting is absolutely not permitted.
  • If a driver has mechanical failure such as engine problems, oil/transmission/fuel leaks etc. they are required to pull off of track surface in a safe area at their earliest opportunity. If any oil/fluid spills occur notify the nearest IMR staff member immediately. A clean-up fee may be issued depending upon the size of the spill.
  • If a driver goes off track and is unable to come back onto the track they are to remain in their car with their safety belt secured. The only exception would be a car that is on fire.
  • Passing is permitted in designated areas with a point-by from the overtaken driver. All drivers are required to monitor their mirrors and as faster cars approach, they are to stay on line and clearly point the passing car by. It is the overtaking driver’s responsibility to make a safe, clean pass. Passing is not allowed in any corners.
  • If a driver notices a car in their rear view mirror, please allow that driver to pass at the next available passing straight. Any member that blocks will be asked to return to the pits/paddock area to meet with the Grid Marshal.
  • If you notice a driver is not paying attention to his or hers mirrors, make your way to the Grid Marshal to warn them about the negligent driver.
  • Each time a driver exits the track for any reason they should signal to all other drivers their inten- tion to do so by holding their arm clearly out the window (production cars) or above the roll bar (race car) clearly indicating their exit from the track.
  • Although there is no speed limit, an IMR official will provide you with a recommended maximum speed based on the member’s performance during the check-out ride. Touring laps are suggested to be at a maximum speed of 80 MPH or as the Grid Marshal recommends.
  • Any member, guest, or visitor found driving on the track while drinking will be suspended from IMR and will forfeit their membership privilege for 6 months while dues continue to accrue. If there is a second violation the member completely forfeits any membership privilege and the non-member will not be allowed on the Ranch premises indefinitely. The member in violation will have their membership discontinued and can no longer use the track at IMR.
  • All signs, warnings, and non-smoking areas must be strictly enforced by all members and non- members.
  • The reason for the “General Rules and Regulations” is for member enjoyment and to ensure the utmost safety of each member and non-member.
